Designers Workshop Line Horse Molds

The Designers Workshop line was introduced in 1952 and features a bigger line of horses than that found in the Miniatures or most Specialty pieces. The detailing on many of these "DW" molds is fantastic, with almost all designed by Maureen Love, an artist of surpassing skill who is much loved within the hobby community. As you can see below these models were typically named as well as assigned a breed and gender as is more common with the other Hagen-Renaker scales. Most were discontinued by the mid- to late-1980s, making these treasured pieces difficult to find. A few pieces were added in 1993, and in 2002 many more became available directly from H-R on an as-ordered basis. Many but not all of these new pieces were limited in number, that limit applying to the total number of that mold release and not any particular color. For these last I have only indicated that multiple colors (charcoal gray, black, bay, dark chestnut, chestnut, gray, white, rose gray, buckskin, palomino, black and white pinto, "calico pinto," and dappled versions of all of these) were/are available but will happily add lines for each color as photos become available.
