Early versions of the Lying Down Foal have only the round "Breyer Molding Co." mold stamp, and in the early 1970s the "U.S.A." stamp was added, with some models also having the "B" stamp. In "unicorn" models the horn is separately molded and glued to the model's forehead, while the beard is a part of these models. The mold was sculpted by Chris Hess and is Breyer mold #245.
